MAKING TYG-RELATED PHONE CALLS
(Taken partially from: Hamakor: The NFTY Resource Book; TYG Administration)

-Never be misleading when calling a TYG member.

-Leave a message if the person is not there.

-Call back!!

-Call at convenient times (not late, not early)

GUIDELINES TO MAKING YOUR TYG PHONE CALLS EFFECTIVE

-Divide the phone list up.  Try to call the same people for every event.  In that way, you get used to the varying schedules of "your people."

-Make an information card to place by your telephone, listing all of the info you are trying to get across

-Be excited and involved in your TYG programming.

-Don't be sarcastic.  To a new member sarcasm can interfere with their sincere interest in youth group.

-If you reach a parent, don't ignore this opportunity to publicize your TYG event.

-Keep a list of all your "yes's," "no's," and "maybe's."

-Spread the word that your making TYG phone calls.   A lot of times new members will go if one of their friends are going.  You can say "your buddy Emily is going too."

-Don't pack too much information into one phone call

-Leave your phone call, in case they have any questions.

-Don't worry about getting anxious, this is perfectly normal.
