SMALL GROUP: ASK OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS: THESE ARE QUESTIONS THAT CANNOT BE ANSWERED WITH "YES" OR "NO" AND REQUIRE A THOUGHTFUL RESPONSE. 1. "WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?" 2. "HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS?" 3. "WHY DO YOU THINK THIS HAPPENED?" 4. "WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES?" *THESE QUESTIONS ENCOURAGES THE PARTICIPATES TO BE INVOLVED IN THE DISCUSSION. WAIT FOR A RESPONSE: YOU DON'T HAVE TO FILL ALL OF THE SILENCES. BY WAITING, PARTICIPANTS WILL TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO START TALKING AGAIN. KEEP CONTROL: KEEP THE DISCUSSION FOCUSED, AND DON'T GET HUNG UP ON SMALL POINTS OR UNRELATED TANGENTS. BE A GOOD LISTENER: 1. MAINTAIN EYE CONTACT WITH THE SPEAKER. 2.
